I saw a commercial for this movie last night and thought it would be interesting to see. I liked it for two reasons: its an original movie (no bio-epic or based on a true story....Don't get me wrong. I like movies based on true stories. it's just that we've had more of those and less originality lately in this country). The second reason I adored this film is because of the awesome acting by an awesome cast. This is Shia LaBeouf at his finest. I almost didn't recognize him. He has matured in so many ways. His performance is balanced by the performance of Zach Gittsagen who is making his film debut. He is a young man with down syndrome that plays a young man by the same name with Down Syndrome in the movie, and his acting is amazing. Followed by a supporting cast that includes Thomas Haden Church, Dakota Johnson, and Bruce Dern. The movie takes place in the south with Zach and Shia's characters set out on two different quests to escape their current life. They cross paths with each other unintentionally and continue their quests together. Along the way, they embark on a journey that involves discovery (self and life), adventure, and true friendship. I have a feeling that this journey will lead to an academy award nomination for Zach. Whether this comes to fruition or not, "The Peanut Butter Falcon" will get Oscar Buzz one way or another when awards season comes around.

Thanks for the comments. The movie does so much for so many. I hope people really take the time to see it. It's playing at theaters all over now including the Lake theater in Oak Park.
Although it may appear it was an accidental meeting a higher power decided these two souls should meet.Together they found the meaning of love and true friendship.
Both Zack and Tyler in the movie we're great. A great story about becoming a man in both of their cases I think...bro dogs!
