Five Stars!!!!!
OMG, this movie was so good. I have to say Jennifer Lopez's acting has improved dramatically with time and Constance Wu is no longer "fresh off the boat" (the T.V. show she starred in). I had no idea this was based on a true story. To sum it up, the main characters along with a supportive cast that includes KeKe Palmer and Cardi B are all dancers at a fancy strip club in New York. Their clients are big time Wall street guys. Things are going great for them in 2007. They are racking in up to five grand a night from regular cliental. BUT then the Wall Street crash of 2008 happens and the guys no longer have any money to go to strip clubs. The girls all try to get 9 to 5 jobs and move on, but realize that they need more money than they can make working at Old Navy, so JLO comes up with a plan to start drugging men so they can max out their credit cards. Well, not just their credit cards but their corporate cards that hold balances of up to fifty grand as well. Their private business is eventually discovered by the feds and they are faced with prison time. What I like more than the plot is the look into their everyday lives and hustles. These are women with children who are doing whatever they can to get ahead and make a better life for their families. Dean Richards gave this movie a "B". I give it an "A+". It's a must see! Go JLO! The soundtrack is pretty good too. Janet Jackson's "Control" album is brought back heavy.
This does sound like a "must see!" You left me wondering if the feds will cut a deal to get something from the guys. Hmmm?
It was true to life.,.
